Letter from our Mayor

On behalf of my fellow councillors, I would like to welcome our virtual visitors to our Town's website.

We hope that you will be able to find that our Town welcomes all visitors. That we are a growing town with lots of investment and residency opportunities.

As we are situated within the oil economic area, we are optimistic of our growth potential in the future. As such, we welcome your visit to explore such opportunities. Our Town is always "open for business."

I will be remiss not to highlight our recreation opportunities. Please come and visit our river site campground. Just to escape the day to day grind and camp by the North Saskatchewan river to "Just hear and watch the river flow" is a treat.

Then camp out at our 9 Hole golf course with grass green for a few days. You will find the course challenging ( at least to me). Of course, there are lots of lakes around that offer great fishing. You are sure welcome to fish for your meal any time.

Do come and enjoy our hospitality.

Look forward to seeing you soon.

Did You Know?

Village of Elk Point Formed, 1938
In the words of J.C. Jensen "We have functioned barely a year and as the first Council we feel at this date, that justifiable pride can be taken in the solvency of the village finances, and in the local improvements that have been carried out. We do not claim infallibility but we have sincerely tried to provide the greatest good for the greatest number. We feel a pride in our village. We hope that it may grow more beautiful, become ever more conscious of the civic pride and truly be a community of which the younger growing generation can always look back to as a sphere of pleasant memories. Our aim is to foster the feeling beyond our confines, that we need them as well as their need of us."
