The purpose of the Elk Point Economic Development Board is to guide and direct the economic development initiatives for the council and the community of the Town of Elk Point.

OBJECTIVES:
The Board will assist the Town of Elk Point with establishing an organizational framework for economic development.

The Board will assist in developing an environment for planning economic development

The Board oversees 4 committees:
~ Business Retention and Expansion
~ Opportunity Identification and Attraction
~ Marketing and Promotion
~ Community Lifestyle Development

The Elk Point Economic Development Committee:

- encourages existing businesses to remain in the community
- provide information / statistical support when needed
- identify opportunity for growth and expansion
- initiate marketing strategies that generate interest and awareness
- contribute to the quality of life to the community and residents

Community led, Community Driven and Community implemented solutions to Economic problems.

Community Economic Development
Community development arises out of the needs of wishes of local people to improve their environment.

Community Capacity is built by local citizens showing will, taking initiative and showing leadership.
