Director of Emergency Management Message

July 13, 2020

I would like to thank you all for your significant efforts to adhere to the Public Health and Local Restrictions that have been in place to keep our communities safe and help reduce the spread of COVID-19 over the last few months. Certainly there have been challenges, and there will be more, but I do appreciate the effort you all have put in.

As we enter into the summer months I hope you all take the time to relax and recharge with family and friends. As the Chief Medical Officer of Health has lifted some public restrictions and the province is now in Stage 2 of relaunch, our local Incident Management Team (IMT) is also taking some time to recharge and reenergize, but will be available at a moment’s notice should the need arise.

I encourage all of you to continue to monitor the Alberta Health COVID-19 interactive relaunch status map at https://www.alberta.ca/alberta-relaunch-strategy.aspx This map shows the level of risk in regions and information about local health measures.

We must continue to stay vigilant and encourage you all to continue to practice public health measures such as physical distancing, masking and proper hand hygiene.

Have a great summer, be safe and stay healthy!
