Director of Emergency Management Message

From the onset of the pandemic, we have tried to ensure we are consistently providing our respective communities the most accurate and relevant COVID-19 information that is available to us. While this information can rapidly change as the pandemic evolves, we want to ensure you are able to access and find the information that you need. Much of the information that is shared by the Province or AHS, more times than not, we hear for the first time as you also.

Locally, we have seen an insurgence of COVID-19 cases over the last number of weeks. As of Sunday December 6th, we sat at 176 total cases, with 94 being active, and 82 recovered within the County of St. Paul, including the Towns of Elk Point and St. Paul. This can be found at: COVID-19 Alberta statistics | alberta.ca

I personally want to wish each and every one of those infected a speedy and full recovery. Often we are asked where, who, how many? We do not receive this specific information directly from the Government, as it is private and privileged and protected under the Public Health Act.

Effective November 23, 2020, the Government of Alberta once again declared a State of Public Health Emergency. With that came mandatory restrictions that are now in effect to protect the health system and slow the spread of COVID-19. To view these restrictions, please visit: Enhanced public health measures | Alberta.ca

We must also recognize our local healthcare teams across our region, including those who work in Public Health and assisted-living and extended care facilities. Your hard work and dedication does not go unnoticed. Please continue to do your part, and please continue to be safe.
